11.12.08- Soul impresario Maxwell has “received a hero’s welcome” (Entertainment Weekly) on his first concert tour in over six years. Playing mostly classics from his first three albums, Maxwell “seems happier and more animated than ever” (St. Louis Post-Dispatch) while displaying “awesome talent” (Boston Herald).
Alongside fan favorites like “Fortunate,” “This Woman’s Work,” and “Til The Cops Come Knockin,’” Maxwell has mixed in three tracks from the first album of his forthcoming trilogy, ‘Black Summers’ Night’ and his celebrated rendition of Al Green’s “Simply Beautiful".
Demand for tickets has been so great that additional tour dates were added in Oakland, Houston, and two nights in Washington DC. The ‘Black Summers’ Night’ Preparty Celebration tour will wrap November 23 at the United Palace Theater in New York City.
