NEW YORK, NY: January 25, 2010 - Steven Van Zandt is a rock and roll maestro, songwriter, arranger, record producer, actor, human rights activist, entrepreneur, Bruce Springsteen's band mate, radio DJ, and all around funny guy. A man with lots of things going on, Van Zandt sits down at the 92nd Street Y with NY1 anchor Budd Mishkin on February 11 to discuss rock and roll radio, music, his new record label, his new social networking site, and more.

Van Zandt once said "I woke up one day and realized there was no rock and roll on the radio and thought 'How did this happen?'" And thus on April 7, 2002 Little Steven's Underground Garage (LSUG) was launched, now heard by over 1 million listeners in North America, 45 countries around the world, and 9 countries via the American Forces Network.

The triumph of LSUG has led to the 24- hour SIRIUS XM channels Underground Garage and Outlaw Country, Little Steven's International Underground Garage Festival, a national tour, an ESPN New Year's Eve Special, and a new label, Wicked Cool Records.

He's also in the midst of fund raising for his foundation and its first initiative - Rock and Roll High School - and pitching a TV show idea.

He's quite opinionated too. During a panel address at SXSW, a passionate Van Zandt said, "All we ever talk about is the delivery system of the product, the mechanics, the technology, the infrastructure; I want to spend just a minute on a topic that never ever gets discussed in the music business - the music. The reason nobody wants to talk about it is because it mostly sucks!"

With that in mind Van Zandt is focusing on developing the artists on his record label in 2010 as well as launching a state-of-the-art social networking and development site for musicians by musicians.
