LA Songwriter Alisha Zalkin Honors Jewish-Mexican Roots At The Mint, 6.01
 
On Friday, June 1st, rising singer/songwriter Alisha Zalkin will debut new songs from her forthcoming EP ‘March To a Different Beat’ (June 19) at The Mint in Los Angeles.

Grammy.com already has its eye on Zalkin's talent, and premiered her first single "Beautiful You":

Zalkin's lyrics deal with anti-bullying, young love and her father’s experience as the son of parents that fled Nazi Germany. The San Diego native was also inspired by the music of her Jewish and Mexican grandmothers, an opera singer and mariachi enthusiast respectively.
