LA’s Alisha Zalkin will channel her diverse musical roots at LA’s The Mint on August 2nd, performing cuts from her debut EP ‘March To a Different Beat.’
Alisha’s soulful, piano-driven narratives combine her big-voiced inspirations, like Celine Dion and Whitney Houston, with her family’s multicultural musical history: her Jewish grandmother’s love of opera and the mariachi her Mexican grandmother exposed her to as a child.
Zalkin’s EP – released on June 19th – was praised by Entertainment Tonight who said it “stands as a testimony to her ethnically diverse and intriguing past” and called it “uplifting and inspiring.” (
