Bob Neuwirth's First NY Show in 10 Years Brings 45 Years of "Stories and Songs" To The Stage

Singer-songwriter and master storyteller Bob Neuwirth - "the real-life 'Zelig'" - is making his first NYC headline appearance in ten years with his deeply intimate show "Stories and Songs" (Dixon Place, October 15). As an artist who has proven himself to be unconcerned with any barriers of style or medium, Bob's "Stories and Songs" show invites the audience into his creative world by bringing together narrative elements and music for a collaborative and entertaining evening.

Over the past 45 years, Neuwirth has found himself at the epicenter of one artistic upheaval after another. His songs have been recorded by Jerry Lee Lewis, Janis Joplin, Roger McGuinn, John Cale, Kris Kristofferson, T Bone Burnett, Peter Case and Bob Holman among many others.

Bob Neuwirth is a singer, songwriter, producer, performer, painter, improviser, collaborator, and instigator with a series of acclaimed albums to his credit. His effortlessly engaging performances spin emotionally vivid vignettes that abound with warmth, humor and life experience. The Stories and Songs show gives the audience a chance to sit in on what could be Bob's living room where it just so happens Pulitzer Prize winning journalist David Felton is around to ask questions. Fellow musicians David Mansfield and Bob Thiele, Jr. are also at the ready to join in the activities. And since the evening is improvised, other artistic collaborators could also make an unannounced appearance.
