Downtown Music Publishing Signs 311

New York, NY (March 19, 2014) Downtown Music Publishing has signed a worldwide publishing administration agreement with multi-platinum rock band 311. The signing was announced today by Downtown’s President, Justin Kalifowitz.

Spanning from the band’s 1995 eponymous album through their latest LP ‘Stereolithic,’ which is debuting on the Billboard 200 at #6 this week, the new agreement covers hit singles such as “Down,” “All Mixed Up,” “Come Original,” and “Amber.”

Formed in Omaha, Nebraska in 1990, 311 first achieved mainstream success with their breakout self-titled album in 1995. The album went triple platinum. A number of successful studio albums followed: 1997’s ‘Transistor,’ 1999’s ‘Soundsystem,’ 2001’s ‘From Chaos,’ which featured 311’s biggest hit to date, “Amber”, 2003’s Evolver, 2005’s ‘Don’t Tread on Me,’ 2009’s ‘Uplifter,’ 2011’s Universal Pulse, and their most recent, ‘Stereolithic,’ resulting in over 10 million albums sold worldwide.

“We are very excited to be working with 311 in their first ever worldwide publishing deal,” said Kalifowitz. “They are one of the most formative alternative rock bands of the nineties and their continued influence across multiple genres remains evident today.”
