Il Volo Announces 2017 U.S. Tour

"Notte Magica - A Tribute to The Three Tenors Tour" kicks off at Radio City Music Hall on March 4th

Il Volo will tour the country with a 55+-piece orchestra to put on the performance that has earned them praise worldwide. The powerhouse trio will play its second ever Radio City Music Hall show - their first in four years - as well as its first shows at LA's Microsoft Theatre, Las Vegas' Park Theater, and Washington D.C.'s MGM National Harbor.

"We are looking forward to seeing our U.S fans once more and honored to perform for them our new music which we are very excited about!" said the trio.

The three members of Il Volo - Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto, and Gianluca Ginoble - are all in their early twenties and have already performed worldwide, released top-selling albums, toured with Barbra Streisand, and have taken the stage for four acclaimed PBS specials. Il Volo's voices "transcend well beyond their years" (Hello! Magazine) and they perform live shows of pop and traditional English, Italian, and Spanish songs accompanied by symphony orchestras. The trio has also performed for major TV shows, including The Tonight Show, The Today Show, Good Morning America, American Idol, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and more.

The trio's latest album, 'Notte Magica - A Tribute To The Three Tenors,' pays homage to its biggest inspiration, The Three Tenors, the name for the legendary July 7, 1990 concert in Rome in which three heavyweights of Opera - José Carreras, Plácido Domingo, and Luciano Pavarotti - sang together. This past summer, Il Volo performed a Three Tenors tribute show at Florence, Italy's famed Piazza di Santa Croce, which aired on PBS this past December. The show was a massive hit, and this upcoming U.S. tour will evoke the same transcending feel of that famed summer night in Florence.

"We wanted to remember that magical [Three Tenors concert] in Rome 26 years ago and let people live that night again," Barone tells Billboard. "It's a quality of their music that's hard to ignore, and easy to understand: each is under the age of twenty-five, and from where they are currently in their careers, it seems they can only go up from here...If you don't have any preconceived notions about the border between opera and pop, or if you're willing to suspend them, then these concerts are for you." - Opera News
