Interpol To Play The Metropolitan Museum Of Art's Temple Of Dendur Celebrating New Album, 'El Pintor,' And The Launch Of The Met's New Flagship App On Sept. 2

On September 2, Interpol will perform at The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Temple of Dendur - a special concert celebrating Interpol’s first new album in four years, 'El Pintor' (Sept. 9, Matador Records), and the launch of the Met's new flagship app. Tickets are now available here: http://met.org/interpolspectrum

Recorded at Electric Lady Studios and Atomic Sound in NYC, ‘El Pintor’ was produced by Interpol, with Daniel Kessler playing guitar and piano, Samuel Fogarino on drums, and Paul Banks on vocals, guitars, and taking over bass duties for the first time. Rolling Stone already called it "perhaps their best effort since 2004's 'Antics'.” "All The Rage Back Home,” the first single from ‘El Pintor,’ debuted at #1 on Billboard's "Trending 140" Twitter chart, and earned praise from The Guardian ("full-throttle"), Under the Radar ("fantastic") and more.

The September 2 performance by Interpol will celebrate the launch of The Met App, a major digital initiative of the Museum supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies. With this new mobile app, people anywhere - simply and easily - can keep in touch with what's on and what's new at the Museum on any given day. The Met will host a reception before the performance where attendees can be the first to try The Met App. For more information about the app, contact: communications@metmuseum.org or 212-570-3951.
