Nixon vs Kissinger: Episode 2 of Harry Shearer's 'Nixon's The One'

The second episode in Harry Shearer's 'Nixon's The One' mini-series premieres this morning. The series, "a funny and scary trip back in time" (NY Daily News), continues this week with "Henry." Watch here now and feel free to post the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPFi-oAB8d8

"Henry" is introduced by the legendary David Frost, and quickly delves into the game of chess that exemplified the bizarre relationship between President Nixon and Henry Kissinger. As Frost says, it was an "intricate, sly and often fraught dance of mutual respect and mutual contempt" that involved, amongst other things, Nixon asking to have Kissinger's phone tapped.

For 'Nixon's The One,' Shearer combed through thousands of hours of Nixon's secret White House tapes, and re-enacted the best moments verbatim, as if filmed by hidden camera.

Shearer will present a special live engagement of 'Nixon's The One' this Weds, October 29th, at The Slipper Room in NYC, incorporating video clips from the series, behind-the-scenes stories and insights, and an audience Q&A.
