Bettye LaVette, Bob Mould, Joy Williams Among First Wave Of Artists Confirmed For Music Of Paul Simon Concert At Carnegie Hall March 31

Concert Benefits Music Education, More Artists To Be Announced Soon

Today Michael Dorf announced the initial lineup of artists confirmed to pay tribute to the music of Paul Simon at Carnegie Hall on March 31. The concert marks the tenth installment of Dorf's annual series, the net proceeds of which benefit music education for underprivileged youth. The Music of Paul Simon concert in March will bring the grand total raised to over $1 million.

The initial line-up includes:
Bettye LaVette
Bob Mould
Madeleine Peyroux & Jon Herington (Steely Dan)
Ben Sollee
Allen Toussaint
Joy Williams (The Civil Wars)
Dan Wilson

Previous sold-out Carnegie concerts presented by Dorf have honored the music of such timeless artists as Prince, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, R.E.M., Neil Young, The Who and The Rolling Stones. Each year 100% of the net proceeds from the concert are given to music education non-profits. This years recipients include: The American Symphony Orchestra's Music Notes, Church Street School for Music and Art, Young Audiences New York, FIKS (Fixing Instruments for Kids in Schools), Little Kids Rock, and the Center for Arts Education.
