Big Yellow Dog Music writer Josh Kear earns 12th country No. 1 with "God, Your Mama, and Me"

Big Yellow Dog Music songwriter Josh Kear scores the 12th No. 1 of his career this week with Florida Georgia Line + Backstreet Boys' "God, Your Mama, and Me."

"God, Your Mama, And Me" was written by Kear (Big Yellow Dog Music), Hillary Lindsey (BMG) and Gordie Sampson (BMG).

Kear's previous chart-topping country hits include Tim McGraw's "Highway Don't Care"; Dierks Bentley's "Drunk on a Plane"; Blake Shelton's "Neon Light"; Frankie Ballard's "Helluva Life"; Luke Bryan's "Drunk on You"; Lee Brice's "Drinking Class"; and Carrie Underwood's "Before He Cheats," "Blown Away," and "Two Black Cadillacs." Kear also co-wrote LOCASH's current single, "Ring on Every Finger."

A Big Yellow Dog Music writer since 2003, Kear is the only songwriter in GRAMMY history to win Best Country Song three times, and he won the overall Song of the Year GRAMMY in 2011 for Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now."

"It's hard to write career-changing songs, but Josh Kear has done just that over the years," says Big Yellow Dog Music co-founder Carla Wallace. "I wouldn't expect anything less from 'God, Your Mama, and Me,' which brought two musical innovators together. Each No. 1 is special, but having a hit with not only Florida Georgia Line but also Backstreet Boys gives it that boy-band cherry on top!"

"God, Your Mama, and Me" is the third Big Yellow Dog Music song to top the country charts in the past three months, following Lauren Alaina's "Road Less Traveled" (co-written by Meghan Trainor) and Josh Turner's "Hometown Girl" (co-written by Daniel Tashian).

Big Yellow Dog Music, founded by Kerry O'Neil and Carla Wallace, is an independent music publishing and artist development company based in Nashville, TN. It has been recognized with such accolades as four GRAMMYs, 30 No. 1 songs, multiple awards from ASCAP and BMI, and the 2017 AIMP Independent Publisher of the Year award. The company's film, television, and brand division had more than 400 placements in 2016.
