(New York, NY): Brooklyn Bowl has announced the winter 2017 season of The Rock and Roll Playhouse's "Rock & Roll For Kids," a Family Concert series on Sundays. The sixth season will include the Music of Phish, Tom Petty, The White Stripes, Prince, & Fleetwood Mac, as well as a special performance by STEVENSTEVEN (Steven Drozd from the Flaming Lips & Steve Burns, the original host of Blue's Clues) on Sunday, February 26th.

Created by entrepreneur and owner of The Capitol Theatre and Brooklyn Bowl, Peter Shapiro, and Amy Striem, an Early Childhood and Elementary teacher, The Rock and Roll Playhouse uses music to educate children and explore their creativity. Since the program's inaugural show in December 2014 featuring Phil Lesh, "Rock & Roll For Kids" has introduced kids to the music of David Bowie, The Beatles, Taylor Swift, and many more. This unique program is designed to keep children moving, playing, and singing while simultaneously listening to classic tunes and reaching developmental milestones. Adults will love the selection of genres and popular-music hits, and all are encouraged to fully participate. Each concert is 60 minutes long and is specifically designed for children ten and younger, but all family members are welcome.

Unless otherwise noted, shows at Brooklyn Bowl open doors at 11AM and begin promptly at 11:15AM each Sunday, and admission is $10. Children under one are free.

About Brooklyn Bowl:

Brooklyn Bowl is the ultimate night out, with its groundbreaking integration of premiere music, 16 lanes of bowling, a bar featuring locally crafted beers, and food by the acclaimed Blue Ribbon restaurant group. Located in the beautiful, 19th-century Hecla Iron Works building, the venue -- aka "rock and roll heaven" (Village Voice) -- boasts a sound system and amenities that "no other local rock club can offer" (The New York Times).

Wearing its homegrown values on its sleeve, Brooklyn Bowl is as committed to locally made products -- serving award-winning beer from the adjacent Brooklyn Brewery -- as it is to environmental sustainability -- it's the first L.E.E.D.-certified bowling alley in the world. And the food? "Epic," says Eater. In other words, Brooklyn Bowl's unprecedented combination of top-flight music, bowling, beer and food is "like nailing a spare on a four-ten split" (The New Yorker).
