NEW YORK, NY - MAY 15, 2026: Today, with the release of new single "What a Relief,"singer, songwriter and actress Ella Hunt shakes off the numbness of loss, reassociates with her senses and finds a way forward. As the latest preview of her forthcoming album, Blindspot – a debut filled with big feelings and small details, fully in command of her power as a shapeshifting vocalist and striking pianist – "What a Relief" scales a stunning summit, building and breaking to a peak of cathartic optimism. "What a relief to get home," she admits. "Kiss my bruises and say that I love them dearly, it's not a game and I'll go where they steer me."

In "What a Relief," Ella Hunt uses images of home as a shield and a sanctuary. It was in the middle of the farmhouse where she grew up in the South West of England that she first began writing songs, spending much of her childhood seated at the piano. The family that surrounded her serves as the wellspring of Blindspot, composed around the loss of her sister Emily to brain cancer in 2023. But throughout these 13 tracks, Hunt confronts grief with poetic turns, keen observations and her clear-eyed, distinctively British wit, capturing acute moments of heartbreak just as easily as she is able to tear into a chorus about the "male gaze industrial complex."

Recorded in both her native London and adopted home of New York City, Blindspot was produced by close collaborator Jimmy Hogarth (ANOHNI, The 1975, Amy Winehouse), with contributions from a transatlantic community of her extended musical family members: Leo Abrahams (Brian Eno, Imogen Heap), Samuel Dixon (Adele, Sia), Chris Vatalaro (Laurie Anderson, Sam Amidon), Thomas Bartlett (Sufjan Stevens, Florence and the Machine), Oren Bloedow (Elysian Fields), Spencer Murphy (Nick Hakim) and Craig Weinrib (Sam Gendel).

Out June 5th on Historical Fiction Records – three days after the premiere of Ella Hunt's star-making turn in Mindy Kaling's upcoming Hulu series, Not Suitable For Work – Blindspot signals the arrival of a sharp, sneakily clever and delicately crafted new voice, soaring from a smoky contralto to a sky-high soprano with wide spectrum of colors and intricacies in between.  

"I love that Blindspot is a time capsule," says Ella Hunt. "There are images and feelings in it that I wouldn't have remembered or had access to if I hadn't documented them in these songs. The vomit-inducing shock of discovering that the people you love are going to die, and that when they do, time's not stopping for you. You're still going to get hungry. The person you love is going to die, and then you're going to need to go and get a snack. We all know, and also nobody else knows."

"What a Relief" follows previous singles "Mother's Chair" and title track "Blindspot,"and Ella Hunt will celebrate the release of Blindspot with performances at NYC's Le Poisson Rouge on June 8th, and LA's School Night at The Airliner on June 11th, presented by KCRW and Make Out Music.

"It's perfect...the perfect sendoff for a beloved patient" - Esquire

Following its premiere during a pivotal moment of HBO Max's 5x Emmy®-winning, #1 Max Original drama series, The Pitt, Andrew Bird and The Pitt composer Gavin Brivik have released a full-length, rerecorded rendition of their collaboration, "Need Someone." As the first-ever original song written and produced for the show, "Need Someone" soundtracked a crucial scene in season two's sixth episode, and delivered "the perfect sendoff for a beloved patient" (Esquire). On the heels of The Pitt's season two finale, Andrew Bird and Gavin Brivik gave their debut live performance of "Need Someone" at Deadline's Sound & Screen Television event this month, alongside a full orchestra and panel discussion that can be viewed on Deadline's site and YouTube. 

"To write a song for a scene is the ultimate challenge. Just something about it being another voice and lyrical aspect of it really excites me," said Andrew Bird to Deadline. "I jumped on this right away and binged the first season to get a sense of what the characters had been through. I feel like what the show is doing is helping us talk about things we don't talk about, especially with the trauma of COVID. There's so much amnesia collectively as a people about it. It's dealing with all the mental health issues we need to talk about."

"I begged the showrunners just to give us the opportunity to pitch a song," added Gavin Brivik, also known for his work on NEON's How to Blow Up a Pipeline, and IFC / Shudder film Faces of Death. "I had no clue who was going to sing or collaborate. I just had these rough instrumental sketches. Andrew sent a voice memo back just singing on top of it, I synced the voice memo up to the scene and pitched."

In addition to The Pitt, Andrew Bird has composed music for movies by Judd Apatow, Lynn Shelton and Chris Pine, FX series Baskets and PBS documentary Storm Lake, while performing in Disney's The Muppets and making his professional acting debut on the cast of FX's Fargo. Today (5.15), Katie Pruitt – one of the most emotionally honest voices in modern Americana and indie-folk – shares her poignant new single, “Same Boat.” 

Written by Pruitt and produced by Isaiah Beard (Jobi Riccio, Jack Van Cleaf), the song has gained traction on her socials for its timely message. In a country so fractured, Pruitt argues that the real enemy is the wealthiest 1% that profits off all the division of the rest of us. Never one to be afraid to speak up about the issues she believes in, she sings, “they don’t care if we’re yelling, if we’re buying what they’re selling, and they don’t care if the world goes up in smoke.” 

“'Same Boat' is about how the top 1% keeps getting richer while the rest of us remain divided,” shares Pruitt. “Regardless of political party, 75% of Americans are still living paycheck to paycheck. As long as we keep blaming each other, no one at the top is being held accountable. If we really are sinking in the same boat, we’ve got to learn how to get on the same page.”

Friday, May 15 – CBGB & OMFUG – Home of Underground Rock and The Bowery Presents are proud to announce a special performance from legendary UK electronic pioneers The Prodigy to kick off CBGB Festival weekend. May 15, 2026 - Nashville-based songwriter Jobi Riccio has returned with her new album Face The Feeling, out today via Yep Roc Records. Co-produced by Riccio and longtime collaborators Isaiah Beard and Jesse Timm, the record vulnerably forges a new path – both sonically and thematically – for the Americana Honors & Awards Emerging Artist of the Year nominee and John Prine Songwriters Fellowship honoree. While her breakthrough debut album Whiplash chronicled growing pains at length, Face The Feeling wrestles with the good, bad, and ugly emotions head-on – all with piercing clarity and a fresh indie sound.

Opening the record is the heart-shattering ballad “A Little At A Time,”bittersweetly reflecting on the difficulty of long-distance relationships. Tracing memories from Nashville to St. Louis, Riccio looks back at small details that remind her of both love and absence, eventually reconciling with the grief distance can create: “My heart only breaks / A little at a time / … / If it’s this or nothing / I’ll choose a little every time.”

“By the end of the song my grief has been confronted, and I’m able to recognize how beautiful it is to know a love so worth all the sacrifices,” Riccio says.

“A Little At A Time” embodies how Face The Feeling confronts all the emotions – grief, self-doubt, desire, rage – that Riccio previously tried to outrun. As she chooses to sit inside discomfort rather than defy it, Riccio treats each emotion as something inescapable and illuminated, like a billboard flashing into view at full speed. “I’ve always been a pretty open book,” Riccio says. “But allowing myself to be challenged and learning the power of letting go was a big part of developing this album.”

Riccio first previewed the album with pre-release singles “Wildfire Season,”which Ann Powers deemed “protest music at its finest” in NPR Music’s “Best Songs of 2025” list, and “The Ridge.” Earlier this year, she released the gritty “Buzzkill,” which Stereogum called “a spunky, catchy salt-of-the-earth rock song.” Stereogum also noted: “We named Jobi Riccio's debut Whiplash one of the best country albums of 2023, though her music has at least as much to do with alternative rock.” Watch the official “Buzzkill” music video HERE.

Written between Colorado and Nashville, Face The Feeling balances light and dark, restraint and release, ecstatic highs and mournful lows. FRIDAY, MAY 15 (LOS ANGELES, CA) – Today, four-time GRAMMY nominee Grace Potter announced her seventh studio album, Trespasser, due out August 21 via Thirty Tigers. As the spiritual sequel to 2023’s critically acclaimed Mother Road, Potter continues the kaleidoscopic storyline shaped by her many road trips from her Topanga Canyon home to her part-time residence in her native Vermont (a journey she’s made eight times in the last five years, usually on her own). But while Mother Road was born from a desperate need for solace in the midst of emotional freefall, Trespasser reveals an artist firmly anchored in her singular vision. The latest chapter in a career marked by endless transformation and elite recognition, Trespasser ultimately lights the way toward a more unbound and expansive means of moving through the world.

Also today, Potter released the album’s first single, “Love Me Not.” After beginning in a bruised but baiting, slow-burning fragility, the track morphs into a high-energy free-for-all after the first chorus, dancing through the emotional wreckage with a euphoric rush of radiant piano melodies and fantastically rowdy gang vocals. “We’ve always been taught that the trespassers are the bad guys, but to me it’s not about reckless rebellion—it’s about exploring, physically and mentally and emotionally, and being willing to step outside the narratives we’ve accepted,” Potter shares. “Because in my experience, the places we’re told not to go are exactly the ones that show us who we really are.”

Although each song on Trespasser opens a window onto her inner landscape, Potter conceptualized the album as a dimension-hopping road saga, weaving together what she refers to as “these fables and storylines that have been whooshing around my soul for a very long time.” Part myth, part fever dream, the LP’s rotating cast of drifters circles around Topeka: a wild-hearted nomad who drives off a bridge in the breathless and scorching “Ride Or Die,” only to be resurrected within the spectral reverie of “Gasoline.” With its ensemble of misfits also including the lascivious ghost of a café delivery boy and the jealousy-crazed diner owner who killed him, Trespasser turns epic on “War On The Mountain”—a mythic psychodrama in which wholeness comes from making peace with all the selves you were told to exile.

Produced by her husband and frequent collaborator Eric Valentine (Queens of the Stone Age, Weezer, Slash) and recorded in a cross-country journey beginning at her home in Topanga with Benmont Tench (Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers), continuing in Nashville with Mother Road session players Nick Bockrath (Cage the Elephant), Tim Deaux (Kings of Leon), and Matt Musty (Train), and completed in Vermont with members of her longtime live band (guitarists Indya Bratton and Ricky Dover Jr, bassist Kurtis Keber, drummer Jordan West), the album echoes its origins with a wayward sound that spans from stripped-bare soul to cosmic country to hellraising rock & roll—all while orbiting Potter’s force-of-nature voice and lavishly imagined storytelling.

This summer, Potter is set to join Chris Stapleton for five shows on his All American Road Show Tour, marking the third consecutive year she’s been on the road with the country superstar. Potter will also join Zac Brown Band for 11 shows on their Love and Fear Tour this fall. Marking a decade since Prince’s passing, this year’s Celebration stands as one of the most expansive and emotionally resonant gatherings to date, bringing together fans, collaborators, and artists from around the world for five days of music, storytelling, and community.

Program highlights include a historic, once-in-a-lifetime first onstage reunion of members of The Revolution and The New Power Generation, with Bobby Z and Lisa Coleman joining Morris Hayes, Tony M, Levi Seacer, Sonny T, Queen Cora Coleman, Cassandra O’Neal, Greg Boyer, Mike Phillips, Kenni Holmen and vocalists Liv Warfield, Ashley Tamar and The Twins, all who worked and performed with the Purple One. Special guest performances throughout the week include Chaka Khan, Morris Day, Miguel, Tevin Campbell, Bilal, Kat Graham, Sounds of Blackness and more.

The event will take place Saturday, June 6 from 4:30–6:30 p.m. at 101 North 9th Street in downtown Minneapolis, the day before what would have been Prince’s 68th birthday.

Community initiatives throughout the week will include the Eat Street Initiative encouraging support of independently owned restaurants and small businesses, coordinated Purple Family engagement throughout key neighborhoods, and memorial visits honoring George Floyd, Renee Good, and Alex Pretti. Additional opportunities throughout the week will encourage attendees to participate in reflection, remembrance, healing, and direct community support throughout Minneapolis.

Prince Celebration 2026 will also spotlight Prince Legacy’s Youth Mental Health Initiative, focused on supporting creative expression and arts-based healing opportunities for young people. Paisley Park will additionally host an onsite food drive throughout the Celebration weekend supporting local community organizations and families in need. Additional wellness-focused programming includes Maya McClean’s “Awakening” sound healing experience at Paisley Park.

Thursday, May 14 - Today, the Hudson River Music Festival announces a slate of programming centered around America 250. In partnership with the Guthrie & Dylan Centers, the festival will highlight enduring American song tradition through artists like Woody Gutherie, Bob Dylan, and others in their creative lineage. The festival grounds will include an on-site exhibit on Woody Guthrie. Additionally, the Woody Guthrie Tent will also host a 45 minute family-friendly creative writing workshop. Led by the New York City Children’s Theater, festival-goers can participate in two 30 minute sessions that include performances of several Woody Guthrie covers in addition to an interactive writing exercise facilitated by playwright Frank Ruiz. Rooted in the spirit of Pete and Toshi Seeger’s folk picnics, the festival returns to Croton Point Park for the second year presented by Harper House Music Foundation, Riverfest FPS (For Pete’s Sake) and Dayglo Presents. This all-ages day aims to bring together music lovers, environmental advocates, and families for a vibrant celebration. From musical performances to community-driven experiences, the festival continues to carry the torch of a beloved tradition in the Hudson Valley area. Dedicated to sustainability, and commitment to a Zero Waste future, attendees will be encouraged to reduce their environmental impact and enjoy a greener, more responsible experience. 

From timeless classics to new collaborations, the Hudson River Music Festival continues to celebrate the music, history, and community that make this region so extraordinary, creating memories and moments that will become part of the festival’s story for years to come. The Guthrie Family Singers are part of this year’s stand-out lineup which also includes genre defying “Cosmic Country” headliner Daniel Donato, Allman Brothers band member Warren Haynes, Margo Price, and Grahame Lesh. Modeled after Seeger’s original vision, the festival brings together a new wave of folk and Americana voices carrying that mission forward and using their platforms to reflect and shape the evolving American story.

Hudson River Music Festival is committed to an inclusive experience for all guests. The festival offers ADA parking, accessible shuttles (including to Croton-Harmon Train Station), and accessible viewing areas at both stages, including an elevated platform on the main stage. ASL interpreters will be available for all Hudson Stage and Rainbow Stage performances, with dedicated viewing from the Deaf Zone. 

Purposefully taking place on Father’s Day, Hudson River Music Festival will invite families to celebrate together with a full day of interactive, all-ages programming across the festival grounds with select programming tied to the America 250 commemoration. On the new North Star Stage, which will focus on activities and family fun, young music fans can rock out with The Rock and Roll Playhouse, Bash The Trash, and Feel Trip Yoga sessions! Families can get creative in the Kids & Family Arts & Crafts Area, and join the participatory Circle of Song. Roaming performances from Arm of the Sea, a whimsical Fish Migration with puppets and puppeteers from the Jim Henson Studios, New Vaudevillain (stilts and magic), and Nate the Great (music and juggling) will pop up throughout the day. Families can flow together with yoga from Feel Trip, make music from recycled materials with Bash the Trash, and musical moments from the Walkabout Clearwater Chorus. 

The North Field will transform into a hub for advocacy, education, and action, hosting a curated selection of community environmental organizations, grassroots activist groups, and a high-level panel on Climate Change. From hands-on creativity to river-inspired spectacle, the festival offers a vibrant, multi-generational celebration perfect for Father’s Day along the waterfront and exploratory, hands-on activities that honor the nation’s 250-year history through folk traditions, environmental stewardship, and community activism.
