On his debut album, the Vermont musician adds an electronic touch to his folk songwriting and diary-like meditations on flatscreen TVs, grocery-store ACs, Lil Wayne lyrics and other mysteries of modern life. Jamison’s keen sense of storytelling runs in the family; he is a descendent of both George Frederick Root, the great songwriter of the Civil War era, and John Gower, the 14th Century British poet and friend to Chaucer and Richard II.
