LA Trio Younger Hunger “PRAY 4 U” On New Hypnotizing Alt-Pop Single

Listen to “PRAY 4 U” HERE

Today, Younger Hunger, Los Angeles alt-pop trio, release their latest single, "PRAY 4 U.” “PRAY 4 U” finds singer Tony Davia grappling with the complexities of looking at the world and wondering where/how you fit in. “It’s about searching for something to hold onto in a confusing and turbulent time” says Davia on the meaning of the track. This search for self-realization is conveyed over a hypnotizing melody that mirrors the clash between feelings of defeat and the desire for something more. “The lyrics are basically just me working through some of my own personal frustrations with myself and with the world around me” says Davia. An honest snapshot of that universal feeling of being stuck, “PRAY 4 U” is guaranteed to stick with you beyond your first listen.

More from Tony Davia on the track and recording process –

‘Pray 4 U’ is a diary entry of a song that was written in what felt like a hopeless time. I wrote and recorded the original demo in an afternoon, with just my OP-1, guitar, and laptop.

Recently, Younger Hunger partnered with media outlet For the Record to pen a fictional story on the backstory of their previous single “Elmer.” Paired with fun animated drawings and a story about a business trip to Hawaii turned romantic, the story leads back to the remembrance of childhood memories and Elmer’s glue. About Younger Hunger

Younger Hunger are the LA-based indie pop trio of Tony Davia, Lucas Connor, and Becket Edwards, three friends and collaborators living together who not only have created a musical vocabulary all their own — one that equally valorizes Talking Heads and Playboi Carti, finding freedom in the genre agnosticism of the streaming era — but have built a band universe that is attracting a very online cult fanbase. Inspired by the multimedia world-building of Gorillaz and Odd Future, Younger Hunger have set themselves apart with a modern DIY approach. Aside from writing the music, the band create all their own artwork, design their own merch, direct their own music videos, and, of course, manage their own social media, crafting off-kilter performances and charmingly tossed-off skits that build windows into their restlessly creative home.
