A2IM And Five Seven Music Announce New Marketing Initiative Today
(New York, NY) -- A2IM (American Association of Independent Music) has partnered with Five Seven Music, and its roster of alternative rock artists, to launch the Five Seven branded Tour Odyssey tomorrow, February 13th. Spearheaded by Five Seven Music, Tour Odyssey, which is co-headlined by The Dirty Heads and Shiny Toy Guns and features Midi Matilda and Oh No Fiasco, utilizes A2IM’s newly created template for branding independent labels with like artists.
The template will be facilitated by A2IM’s independent music supporters that include iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Facebook, YouTube and others - all of whose platforms will contribute to helping market and create unique content and community features for ticket buyers and connect like-minded fans.
A2IM President, Rich Bengloff notes, “These supporters recognize the importance and large market share of the independent alternative music community (over 30%) and our community’s flexibility and willingness to embrace new technologies as reasons for being involved in this initiative. Tour Odyssey will seek to connect the dots between fans, artists, content and promoters. We hope this will be the first of many branded touring packages and is the way of the future for our independent community to connect our label members with their artists’ fans.”
As Tour Odyssey is fully rooted firmly in community and great music, it will have accompanying Five Seven Music album samplers that will be given away free with the purchase of a ticket. Five Seven samplers will also be available for purchase for $6.99 at iTunes to those who just want the sampler. Fans will continue to get more bang for their buck with special offers throughout the year and a slew of great content from all bands on the tour. Tour Odyssey includes four artists on the Five Seven roster: The Dirty Heads, Shiny Toy Guns, Midi Matilda and Oh No Fiasco; and the album samplers include tracks from the aforementioned as well as Nico Vega. Click here for a sample of the artist on Tour Odyssey and/or the sampler.
Tour Odyssey is gearing up for the first leg beginning tomorrow, February 13th and the second leg continues on April 3rd through 19th. Please see below for a list of tour dates on both the first and second legs. Tickets are on sale now for the first leg and the second leg goes on sale Friday, February 15th and can be purchased via the band’s websites.
Five Seven Music Founder and CEO, Allen Kovac says, “This is an integrated marketing concept that will make it easier for branded labels to work with promoters to increase ticket sales, especially in markets that don’t have rock or alternative radio stations. The industry needs turnkey marketing opportunities to allow for the best use of new media.”
Bengloff adds, “One of the true strengths of the independent music label community is that our label members are true brands, whether it be the Blues (Alligator), EDM (Ultra), Metal (Century Media), Reggae (VP), or a leading Alternative brand like Five Seven Music. I applaud Allen Kovac and his team at Five Seven Music for creating what we hope will be the first of many independent artist branded tours, in this case for the alternative music community and its fans.”
After its initial launch, A2IM is hopeful that our industry partners will use this template to work with other independent label members to create these turnkey marketing opportunities.
