(New York, NY - February 18th) Record-breaking international phenomenon Adoreturns with her powerful new song “Vivarium,” available now worldwide, marking five years since her explosive major-label debut “Usseewa” first shook the music scene. “Vivarium” is inspired by the forthcoming autobiographical nonfiction novel Vivarium: Ado and Me, set for release on February 26 (currently available in Japanese only). Arranged by Ado’s bandmaster and guitarist Takafumi “CO-K” Kokei, the track features lyrics and music written by Ado herself. The song transforms her inner cry, grappling with self-denial while searching for light, into an emotionally charged vocal rock anthem. A vivarium is an enclosed space that recreates a natural living environment, a symbolic reference to the closet where Ado recorded her vocals prior to her debut. The single’s cover art features Ado’s silhouette from behind inside a closet, marking her first-ever real-life appearance on cover artwork. The novel is written by bestselling author Narumi Komatsu, who spent three years conducting interviews with Ado to craft this original work. It comprehensively depicts everything from her childhood, through school refusal period as a student, challenge to become a “singer” that became her salvation, encounter with Takuya Chigira, President and CEO of her agency Cloud Nine, and finally, the birth of “Ado” and the world tour, her rise to the global stage. Recently, Ado announced her live Blu-ray/DVD documenting her second world tour, Ado WORLD TOUR 2025 “Hibana” Powered by Crunchyroll, out March 25. The limited-edition package captures both the Saitama Super Arena performance, where Ado launched her world tour in her native Japan and the July 26 concert at the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida. A standard edition featuring the Orlando show will also be available. The tour is the largest-scale world tour by a Japanese artist to date and spanned five continents and included 34 shows across Asia, Australia, Europe, North America and South America. It drew approximately 500,000 fans worldwide and featured 25 sold-out arena dates, including Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and Prudential Center in Newark, making Ado the first Japanese artist to sell out these major U.S. and Canadian venues.
