For “Monstruo,” Giga & TeddyLoid reunite as composers and arrangers following their work on Ado’s global fan favorites “Odo” and “Show.” Driven by an infectious Latin-inspired rhythm, the track pairs their propulsive production with lyrics by ryo (supercell) and Ado’s unmistakably powerful, shape-shifting vocals. Meaning “monster” in Spanish, “Monstruo” channels the idea of awakening the monster within and pushing higher and further than anyone else. Ado’s dynamic vocal performance collides with rapid-fire, constantly evolving rap passages, giving the song an exhilarating sense of forward motion. The result is a high-octane anthem built for summer 2026 and a natural match for the fierce competitive spirit at the heart of BLUE LOCK. The release arrives amid another milestone year for Ado. In July, she took the stage for two historic performances at Nissan Stadium and recently made her debut at Lollapalooza in Chicago, where she closed the Airbnb Stage before a packed crowd. Since making her explosive major-label debut with “Usseewa” in October 2020, the 23-year-old singer has achieved a remarkable series of milestones in Japan and around the world, establishing herself as one of the most distinctive voices of her generation.
ABOUT BLUE LOCK Based on the massively popular soccer manga beloved by fans worldwide, BLUE LOCK centers on an unprecedented project created to develop the striker capable of leading Japan to a FIFA World Cup championship. Three hundred of Japan’s most promising high school forwards are brought together at a radical training facility known as “Blue Lock,” where they must compete in a ruthless survival competition. Only one can emerge victorious, and those who fail risk losing their opportunity to ever represent Japan. With its convention-breaking premise, fiercely individualistic characters and unpredictable story, BLUE LOCK has captivated audiences in Japan and internationally, establishing itself as one of the defining soccer manga franchises of its generation.
BLUE LOCK — STORY “What Japanese soccer lacks is ego.” Three hundred high school forwards from across Japan are summoned to “Blue Lock,” a revolutionary training facility designed to create the striker who can lead Japan to a World Cup victory. Only one player can survive to the end. Those eliminated will permanently lose their chance to represent Japan. Among the players putting their entire soccer futures on the line is protagonist Yoichi Isagi (Fumiya Takahashi). In a battle to become the world’s ultimate egoist striker, who will survive? |
