Henry Jamison, Vermont’s millennial transcendentalist singer-songwriter, today releases his Spotify Singles after earning 55M+ streams for his "unshowy, literate gem" (The Guardian) of a debut album, ‘The Wilds.’ Recorded as a stripped-down session at Spotify’s NYC studio, the tracks’ string arrangements add a more classical element to Henry’s blend of intricate, acoustic folk with delicate, James Blake-esque, electronic flourishes. Along with breakout hit “Real Peach,” Henry also performs “The Partisan,” originally “La Complainte du Partisan,” a WWII-era anthem for French Resistance, Anglicized and made popular by Leonard Cohen.

Henry’s historically, classically-informed "visionary" (Ladygunn) work has won him the attention of Vice Noisey, NPR’s World Café, American Songwriter, and more, and his erudite lyrics- “written like the Great American Novel” (Billboard), continue the legacy of ancestors that include a colleague of Chaucer’s, a famed Civil War Songwriter, a composer, and an English professor. Created with the goal of distilling the essences of major artistic and philosophical achievements into three-and-a-half-minute songs, ‘The Wilds,’ is a collection of “miniatures” of the works of great thinkers like Cézanne, Rodin, Rilke, and Nietzsche.

Henry has spent 2018 touring with the likes of Big Thief’s Adrianne Lenker, folk quartet Darlingside, and fellow Vermonter Caroline Rose. In June, he sets out on a North American tour with rising electronic indie outfit Haux, playing his second Rough Trade show in Brooklyn, and visiting other cities including LA and San Francisco. With support from a full band, Henry will perform songs from ‘The Wilds’ and tease unreleased material with a simultaneously contemplative and witty live style.
