This Father’s Day, GRAMMY-nominated, multi-platinum artist Aloe Blaccreleased the official music video for “Daddy Told Me So,” a deeply personal standout from his latest album Stand Together — his first collection of original music in over five years. Premiering on BET’s Times Square billboard, the song offers a moving tribute to fatherhood, legacy, and generational wisdom. Anchored by majestic horns, drumline snares, and Aloe’s signature storytelling, the track honors his late father, a retired U.S. Marine Corps Major, and showcases Aloe’s ability to translate intimate experiences into timeless, universally resonant music.

The video captures a narrative told through a story book Aloe reads to his young son before bed, detailing the lessons his father taught him growing up, which has followed him into his own fatherhood. The symbolic book follows along with the track's lyrics written on each page as the graphics show key moments between a father and son as the child grows up. The illustrations continue to reflect the lyrics in a nostalgic way, mirrored in the hazy, dream-like filter put over the video. The video ends panning to the DA portrait of his late father, concluding the perfect homage to Aloe’s father and to fathers around the world, touching the heartstrings of everyone experiencing the video. The video release followed another milestone moment: Aloe’s official debut at the Grand Ole Opry, which took place Saturday night (June 14) during Father’s Day weekend. He performed “Daddy Told Me So” alongside two additional songs from his catalog (“Harvard” and “Wake Me Up”) marking his entry into the historic institution.

Released earlier this year, Stand Together is a 12-track collection blends soul, pop and R&B to elevate themes of community, contribution and unity, inspired by the impactful work philanthropic organization Stand Together’s nonprofit partners are doing across the country.
