Aloe Blacc To Make Official Grand Ole Opry Debut June 14

Grammy-Nominated Artist to Perform Three-Song Set Including “Daddy Told Me So” from His New Album ‘Stand Together’

Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum artist Aloe Blacc will make his official Grand Ole Opry debut on Saturday, June 14, joining the ranks of legendary performers who have graced the stage of the most iconic institution in country music. Aloe will perform a three-song set that includes “Daddy Told Me So”, a heartfelt standout from his acclaimed new album Stand Together (released in February via Grand Scheme Productions/Vydia). Aloe’s performance arrives just in time for Father’s Day weekend, and his poignant tribute to his late father makes the moment all the more meaningful. “Daddy Told Me So” is a passing of principles from one generation to the next. Aloe poetically weaves the universal with his own personal relationship with his dad, who retired as a Major in the U.S. Marine Corps, reflecting on the values of hard work, equality, lending a hand, and discovering one’s purpose. Complete with drumline snares and majestic horns, the track recounts the lessons his father imparted with both strength and warmth—a powerful addition to the lineage of classic odes to a loving parent.

"It’s a tremendous honor to stand in the circle at the Grand Ole Opry,” says Aloe. “The legacy of this stage is undeniable, and I’m proud to bring my voice and message to a space that celebrates storytelling in its purest form. To perform a song inspired by my father during Father’s Day weekend makes it all the more special.”

Released earlier this year, Stand Together is Aloe’s first album of original music in five years—a 12-track collection that blends soul, pop, and R&B with a powerful message of unity, empathy, and purpose. Each song is paired with a positive social initiative or community-focused nonprofit, showcasing Aloe’s ongoing commitment to using music as a force for positive change. Since its announcement, Aloe has performed and been featured on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Good Morning America, NPR Weekend Edition, The Jennifer Hudson Show, Live with Mark & Kelly, CBS Saturday, and more.
