Today, Arlie announce that their debut EP 'Wait' will be out September 19th on Atlantic Records. In short order, the young Nashville band has risen from humble beginnings playing the Nashville house party scene and DIY art gatherings to performing at festivals like Bonnaroo and Forecastle and sharing bills with the likes of Rostam and Cold War Kids.

The brainchild of frontman Nathaniel Banks, Arlie started off as a dorm room recording project that had Banks melding his love of classicist songwriting with the immediacy and feel of DIY pop music. "I love the vibe of old analog recordings, but at the same time, I'm really interested in the creative process of Soundcloud rappers and kids who are just uploading lo-fi music straight from their bedrooms. With Arlie, I wanted to make something that paired vintage aesthetics with a progressive mentality."

After adding guitarist Carson Lystad, drummer Adam Lochemes, and multi-instrumentalist Tyler Waters, Arlie became a live entity and their debut single, the breezy earworm "big fat mouth," exploded on Spotify, racking up a couple million streams.

With 'Wait,' Arlie make good on the potential exhibited on their early singles. Lead single "barcelona boots" is a swirl of washed-out synths and Banks' yearning falsetto, while "too long" is a sighing ballad underpinned with psychedelic atmospherics. On the EP's closer -- the tropical, hazy "tossing and turning" -- Arlie turns a self-deprecating eye on a superficial generation so fixated on projecting a lifestyle that they miss out on living the actual life.

Arlie are set to embark on a series of tour dates, including a headlining show in LA for School Night at Bardot, and dates opening for Mt. Joy. Full dates below.
