"Art, Authenticity Drive Growing Plowboy Records" (Tennessean)
Today The Tennessean spotlighted Nashville’s Plowboy Records for their diverse roster, from true country (Bobby Bare) to honky-tonk (Chuck Mead) and psychobilly rock (JD Wilkes, Ghost Wolves) + more. The label was created in 2012 to further the legacy of the original Tennessee Plowboy, the late Country singing legend Eddy Arnold, and provide a home for American music.
Plowboy was founded by punk legend Cheetah Chrome, Eddy Arnold’s grandson Shannon Pollard, and music historian and professor Don Cusic who pride themselves on their unconventional approach, which works, Pollard says, because “the common denominator is the pioneering spirit and musical authenticity.”
