Country Riser Austin Williams Releases Debut EP ‘Wanna Be Saved’ Via Truth Or Dare Records
|
Earlier this month, rising country artist and Nashville native Austin Williams released “Wanna Be Saved,” a song that rose to the top 10 of iTunes' all-genre and country charts, amassing 500,000 streams in its first day. Today (9.27), he shares his debut EP of the same name via Truth or Dare Records.

Billboard praises Williams for his “burly” vocals that, at only 19 years old, sound like they come from someone with a lifetime of experiences. Williams delivers rich vocals on the new songs, while he embraces the rambunctious country-rock and hip-hop adjacent, syncopated vocal inflections comparable to country radio mainstays like Morgan Wallen and others.
Williams began his love for songwriting during his recovery from a life-changing surgery at the age of 15. Since then, he has been paving an independent path for himself and building a loyal, grassroots fanbase through his powerful, country traditionalist voice and charismatic, small-town charm on TikTok.
‘Wanna Be Saved’ features Williams’ relatable songwriting with the hip-hop-leaning “Stuck On Me,” followed by “The Bed I Made,” a song that resonates with anyone who has rebounded with someone else after a breakup. The edgy title track, which shot up the country charts, finds Williams wrestling with his vices, struggling to choose between the Bible and the bottle. “Wrong Truck” is a confident call-out to the one that got away, while “Who Is She Looking Good For” sympathizes with the uncertainty of a crush and “Love Through Whiskey” tells a story of reckless, whiskey-fueled romance.
Fans can expect more music from Williams in the coming year. In the meantime, visit Williams on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube.
