Benny Sings - Live At The Planetarium: Global Livestream Concert From Amsterdam On April 9 To Celebrate His New Album 'Music' (Stones Throw Records)

Benny Sings’ new album Music will be released April 9 on Stones Throw Records. The 10-song project features collaborations from across genres including Mac DeMarco, Emily King, KYLE, Tom Misch and Cautious Clay. On release day, Benny will celebrate with a livestream concert performed with a full band, under the stars, at The Planetarium in his hometown of Amsterdam. The concert will begin at 9pm ET / 9pm PT and “pay what you want” tickets are now available: www.bennysings.com/livestream.

The Planetarium is a historic venue in Amsterdam, a place to explore outer space. But on April 9, it will transform into the setting for Benny’s first-ever livestream concert. “We were looking for a special heavenly setting for our livestream concert. We found it with the historic Planetarium in Amsterdam. I'm really looking forward to playing songs off the new album Music and some classics with my band surrounded by beautiful starry skies,” says Benny.

Benny recently shared “Here It Comes” which was selected as a World First premiere on Zane Lowe’s Apple Music 1 show and highlighted on KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic. In January he released “Nobody’s Fault” featuring Tom Misch on guitar. Clash described the track as a “deluxe, caramel-soft jammer [that] carries an exceptionally potent sense of control” and was covered by OkayPlayer, HYPEBEAST, BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music. “Rolled Up,” co-written and featuring Mac DeMarco, is earning millions of views/streams, and in July he made a rare return appearance to NPR’s Tiny Desk for a (Home) Concert.  

Few musicians can claim to count Rex Orange County, (with whom Benny co-wrote and performed on the platinum single, “Loving Is Easy”) Goldlink, Cornelius, Mayer Hawthorne, John Mayer, Rita Ora, Anderson .Paak, and Mac DeMarco as fans and collaborators, but the attraction is easy understand. Benny’s songs are sophisticated and easy to fall in love with, earworming melodies and sticky choruses the result of years of craft that have made him the ultimate songwriter’s songwriter, with a formidable solo career. And Music is his finest work yet.
