Best-Ever Billboard 200 Debut + 7th Straight #1 Blues Bow For Kenny Wayne Shepherd
Kenny Wayne Shepherd's new Concord Records debut 'Goin' Home' is his highest-ever charting album on the Billboard 200, opening at #25 this week. It's also his 7th album to debut at #1 on the Billboard Blues chart.
'Goin' Home' features Kenny's take on 12 formative classics, made famous bythe likes of Albert King, Bo Diddley, Junior Wells, Muddy Waters, Magic Sam and others: songs he first heard and mastered as a child growing up in Shreveport, Louisiana. He returned there to record the album (his first-ever sessions in Shreveport) with his longtime band. 'Goin' Home' is also stacked with guests including Ringo Starr, Robert Randolph, Kim Wilson, Joe Walsh, Warren Haynes, Keb' Mo' and Rebirth Brass Band.
