Blank Range - East Nashville’s Wildly Melodic (Rolling Stone) Genre-Benders - Embrace The Differences That Bring Us Together On New Album In Unison

Blank Range - East Nashville's "Wildly Melodic" (Rolling Stone) Genre-Benders - Embrace The Differences That Bring Us Together On New Album 'In Unison' (February 1)

If there's another East Nashville four-piece with concurrent interests in Cryptozoology, boot-making and writing scores to paintings, they probably don't have a sound that can fit on stage with each of Diarrhea Planet, Margo Price and Spoon. This healthy blend of individuality and eccentricity is the calling card of Blank Range, who will return February 1 with their self-released sophomore album 'In Unison,' a follow-up to their 2017 debut and the Nashville Scene's Rock Album of The Year 'Marooned With The Treasure.' After meeting in an old church-turned-artist commune, the group quickly became stalwarts on the local Nashville house show scene, garnering attention from Rolling Stone ("Blank Range possess that magical combination of dissonant, pavement-ready garage rock & roll with a keen grasp of how to make it all wildly melodic") and graduating to tours with Death Cab For Cutie, The Drive-By Truckers, Tyler Childers and more. With 'In Unison,' the next step of this band's gloriously peculiar journey begins.

On top of the album announcement, Blank Range have shared "Change Your Look," a raucous garage pop good time which effortlessly showcases their blistering grooves, sticky-sweet melodies and whip-smart lyricism. Listen here: http://smarturl.it/ChangeYourLook.

The ten songs on 'In Unison,' all self-penned and self-produced by Blank Range, serve as a natural extension of the band's live shows - recorded in an old Tennessee farmhouse with minimal gear and even less second-guessing. As Blank Range saw their steadily-growing gigs become nightly celebrations of community and shared existence, they felt the best way to channel that phenomenon on tape was simply to emulate the environments where they've felt it most powerfully. While the album's songs range from high-energy thrashers to pedal-steel slow burners, the themes of unity in loneliness and connection in isolation bring a coherent thread to the new project.

Simply put by the band's Grant Gustafson, "uncertainty is one of the few things that we all share in common, and acknowledging that affords us a certain grace, at least on a person-to-person level, because it forces us to recognize that we’re all in this together."

Blank Range will hit the road well into 2019, with currently-announced dates below.
