Brandon Davis Appreciates Inner Beauty On Touching New Song “Pretty,” Out Now
|
Much of modern country music is filled with songs about physical beauty with repetitive lines about “tanned legs” and “pretty bare feet,” but today (7.21), rising country crooner Brandon Davis (Big Yellow Dog Music) shares a track that offers a different take on beauty. “Pretty” is an important reminder to appreciate all the things that make someone beautiful beyond surface looks.

“The idea behind ‘Pretty’ immediately struck me and made me think of my wife, Destiny,” says Davis. “I knew this was one that I wanted to write in a way that showed her exactly how I see her through my own eyes. Anyone that knows her knows that this song describes her to a T. From remodeling the house to cooking dinner, this woman is the epitome of lovely, tough, and all I’ve ever dreamed of. Yes, she is absolutely the most beautiful woman in the world to me, but she’s also the strongest, most patient, and bravest as well. This woman has been through more than anyone realizes, and I admire her every single day and hope this song shows her just that.”
“Pretty” was written by Davis alongside Clay Mills (Reba McEntire, Trisha Yearwood) and Kendal Elizabeth Conrad, and it was produced by Daniel Agee (Logan Mize, Jessie James Decker). While society today often values bombshell looks over internal character, Davis turns the concept of beauty on its head and shows his appreciation for the little things — stains on clothing from painting the house, dancing under kitchen lights, ramen noodle dinners and more — which he finds to be the prettiest parts.
Davis will share more new music throughout 2023. To stay up-to-date, visit brandondavismusic.com.
