Bree Runway Releases New Single “Damn Daniel” Featuring Yung Baby Tate
"Damn Daniel" follows her explosive single "Apeshit," which solidified Bree as a superstar in the making and scored co-signs from the likes of Missy Elliot, Doja Cat and Russ. COMPLEX called it a “major hit,” while i-D heralded it as a “contagiously energetic bop.” Inspired by a Youtube commenter who thought she was “too much,” Bree used her signature sense of humor to flip the narrative and serve “a middle finger to anybody who’s bothered by you doing you. Turn it up some more and pepper ’dem!”
Bree defies any attempts to restrict or pigeonhole her, pulling on a broad range of musical references – from 90’s MTV stars like Busta Rhymes and Gwen Stefani, to Lady Gaga, to the Ghanaian Highlife music her dad raised her on. She has her (very well-manicured) hands in every aspect of her artistic output – from styling to art direction to creating 26-page moodboards for her music videos. She’s also adamant about using her music and platform to speak up about inequalities like racism and sexism, addressing her own experiences on bullying and colorism.
Bree’s devoted cult following – the so called “Runways” – is growing by the day. Pop royalty Rihanna, Kehlani, Stormzy, Diplo, Jorja Smith and Noname have all given the rising star their seal of approval on socials. Even Michelle Obama told a young Bree she had the talent to go far. Michelle was right!
