Broken Arrow, OK Chosen For Notes Live’s Next 12,500-Capacity, State-Of-The-Art Amphitheater

Ultra-luxe music venue set to transform Broken Arrow nightlife, music scene.

Notes Live, the rapidly growing music venue and hospitality company, will build its next world-class amphitheater in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The ultra-luxe Sunset Amphitheater, a $93 million dollar project combining investment from Notes Live and the City of Broken Arrow, will hold 12,500 fans, and showcase the nation’s top artists and musicians in a scenic setting that juxtaposes superlative ambiance and hospitality with gorgeous views of plains, water, and the clear night sky. In a true public-private partnership, the City of Broken Arrow and Notes Live will together create a state-of-the-art entertainment campus and the infrastructure to support it.

Set to be built adjacent to Broken Arrow’s, currently operating, Events Park, the Sunset’s entertainment complex will sit near a picturesque lake, on a spacious lot immediately North of Broken Arrow Events Park and just east of the Creek Turnpike. Modeled after Notes Live’s thriving food and music center in Colorado Springs, the project will feature luxury fire pit suites (which are on sale now), traditionally reserved seating (upper and lower bowl), a landscaped grass berm and custom-built Owners Club suites which are inset beneath the berm.

Named one of the 100 best places to live in the US, and 25 best places to live in the Southwest (Livability.com, 2023), Broken Arrow’s already-vibrant arts, recreation, and tourism scene made it a perfect fit for the Colorado-based Notes Live, which aims to construct their amphitheaters in growing suburbs and small cities that have it “all” ... besides grand-scale live music centers. Between its award-winning Challenger Sports Complex, The Kristin Chenoweth Theatre at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center (BAPAC) and her Broadway Bootcamp (Chenoweth is a Broken Arrow native), and the Rose District’s bustling downtown, Broken Arrow has been a cultural center for many years, but up until now it has not had a major, locally transformative nightlife institution like the Sunset.

“We are thrilled to expand our footprint to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma,” says JW Roth, Founder of Notes Live. “It’s a beautiful community and exactly the kind of place we like to build - the kind of place that has ‘everything,’ besides a place for major national acts to come play music outdoors. We can’t wait to really dig in, working with the city and its residents to create the region’s most vibrant, world-class entertainment experience at our upcoming outdoor amphitheater.”

“I could not be more excited for the possibilities that our community will enjoy because of the investment Notes Live is making in Broken Arrow,” said Broken Arrow Mayor Debra Wimpee. “Live music venues have long been a desire of Broken Arrow citizens, and this public/private partnership to bring a world-class, large-scale entertainment complex to Events Park, will generate experiences that become life-long memories for residents and visitors of BA.”

“Events Park is the perfect location in northeast Oklahoma for Notes Live to build its next amphitheater. In fact, an amphitheater is included in the master plan of Events Park. The park is equipped with an abundance of land and opportunity while having a successful record of accommodating many different types of events and activities in the past,” said Broken Arrow Mayor Debra Wimpee. “I look forward to the day when Events Park is a shared home for amazing concerts on one end and community events and celebrations on the other side.”

“In addition to providing first-class public services for its citizens, municipalities must also strive to bring options for passive and recreational activity to the community,” said Broken Arrow City Manager Michael Spurgeon. “This public/private partnership is the latest example of Broken Arrow’s commitment to seek out and attract economic development opportunities that enhance the already excellent high quality of life in BA.”

“Notes Live’s intention to build a state-of-the-art amphitheater in southeast Broken Arrow and bring live entertainment for citizens and visitors proves yet again, our city is an environment that supports private investment” added Spurgeon. “There is much work to do, including providing the public infrastructure – roads, parking, water, etc. – and the construction of the venue itself, before our community can revel in the amazing atmosphere the amphitheater will eventually afford its guests. I can’t wait for opening day!”

The Sunset development will be a pivotal project for the local community (and local music scene), supporting over 630 direct and indirect jobs and making an annual economic impact of more than $211 million. The Sunset’s construction is projected to begin in 2024, with the aim of unveiling this remarkable outdoor venue just in time for the Summer 2025 touring season.

In the last 12 months, Notes Live, Inc. opened a new venue in Gainesville, GA and announced new music and entertainment complexes in the growing markets of Colorado Springs, CO; Murfreesboro, TN; and Oklahoma City, OK. The company identifies markets in regions with growing populations but a dearth of high-quality music and entertainment venues, and offers premium concert experiences, complete with unbeatable sound and sightlines as well as elevated food and beverage offerings. In addition to having two Notes Live venues named to Billboard's "2022 New and Renovated Venues List," JW Roth was named a "VenuesNow 2022 All Star." Notes Live has plans to operate in a dozen markets by 2028.
