“A hothouse blend of pop smarts and confessional songwriting… a vocal style that blends Little Richard with Johnnie Taylor.”
– MOJO, ★★★★
April 20, 2026 // Brother Wallace has officially entered his live era. Last Friday, the West Point, Georgia-bred singer, pianist, and soul revivalist kicked off his first-ever major tour, joining St. Paul & The Broken Bones for a run that’s quickly turning into a breakout moment in real time. The tour launched last Friday in Charlotte and continues this week with a string of increasingly high-profile rooms — including sold-out stops at Washington, D.C.’s 9:30 Club (4/24), Brooklyn Paramount (4/25), and Chicago’s The Salt Shed (5/1).
With each night, Wallace is proving what early listeners have already started to suspect: this isn’t a new artist “warming up.” It’s a performer built for the stage — a voice that can hush a room, then lift it to its feet, turning classic soul vocabulary into something urgent, human, and fully alive. That electricity is the same current running through his forthcoming debut album, Electric Love, out May 8 via ATO Records. In a recent album review and interview feature with MOJO Magazine, they described the project as a “hothouse blend of pop smarts and confessional songwriting in which horns and harmonies constantly take it higher,” even stating that Brother Wallace “seizes the spotlight.” Listen / Watch lead single and title track.

Produced and co-written with Dan Taylor (The Heavy) and recorded at Peter Gabriel’s legendary Real World Studios in England, Electric Love is a 13-song introduction to a vocalist whose joy feels earned — gospel-rooted, sweat-lit, and deeply real. The record was engineered/mixed by Bob Mackenzie (James Blake, The 1975, King Krule, SAULT) and Jim Abbiss (Adele, Arctic Monkeys), capturing Wallace’s performances with the kind of immediacy that feels less like studio polish and more like a room you’re standing inside.
As the tour continues, demand is only growing. In addition to the sold-out D.C., NYC, and Chicago dates, multiple stops across the run have already reached capacity — including Asheville (4/18), Toronto (4/28), Lexington (5/6), and Charleston (5/9). And with Wallace set to hit the stage in Atlanta on album release day (5/8 at The Eastern), the timing of this tour feels like the start of something bigger — a debut arriving mid-stride, with momentum already locked in.
