Carole King's New Single Co-Written With Hal David

Last week, between becoming the first woman to be awarded the Gershwin Prize and performing at the White House, Carole King quietly released the first new, original song penned by Carole in over a decade, "I Believe In Loving You," co-written with Hal David and produced by her daughter Louise Goffin. She performed the song publicly for the first time at the White House, dedicating it to David who passed away in 2012. Watch that performance here -

Carole writes, "Last year, after I learned that Hal David had passed away, I remembered that he and I had written together in 1999...After listening to the rough draft demo of 'I Believe In Loving You' I knew I had to record it properly, if only for his family. But then [Grammy-nominated producer] Louise Goffin recorded such a wonderful track that I thought a lot more people beyond Hal's family might want to hear it."

Carole will play the One Fund Boston Strong concert today, May 30.
