Celebrated Indian Comic Zakir Khan Makes History With Madison Square Garden Debut

Tuesday, August 19 - On Sunday, August 17, one of India’s most beloved comics Zakir Khan made his Madison Square Garden debut as the first Hindi-language comic to headline one of the world’s most prominent stages. This stop was part of his international tour presented by Outback Presents, the leading independent, full service promoter of live entertainment in North America. The historic evening began with performances by two comedy powerhouses, Hasan Minhaj and Tanmay Bhat, making the evening a once-in-a-lifetime gathering of some of the most influential voices in global comedy.

This unforgettable moment marked the monumental kickoff of Zakir’s North American tour, which spans 13 cities, over 16 shows, for more than 70,000 live fans, including two back-to-back shows at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena. 

Zakir’s approach to comedy is anecdotal, personal and heartfelt, and his delivery poetic and relatable at the same time. He has over 830 million YouTube views and multiple shows on OTT, including five Amazon Prime stand-up specials: Tathastu, Haq Se Single, and Kaksha Gyarvi, among them, some of the highest rated by Indian audiences.
