Classical California Expands Reach with New 89.9FM Signal in Livermore & the Tri-Valley Area
(Thursday, March 27, 2025) – Classical California, the nation’s largest listener-supported public media organization dedicated to classical music, is expanding its broadcast footprint with a new 89.9FM signal, bringing world-class classical music to Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin, and the broader Tri-Valley region.
For years, much of the Tri-Valley has been beyond the reach of Classical California’s signals. Now, thanks to a newly installed transmitter in the heart of Livermore’s renowned wine country, listeners in Pleasanton, and parts of Dublin and Pleasanton can experience the beauty and inspiration of classical music on 89.9FM. This expansion reaffirms Classical California’s commitment to making classical music more accessible and enriching the lives of listeners across the state.
"This new signal is a testament to our mission of bringing classical music to more people, wherever they are," said Bill Lueth, President of Classical California -SF. "The Tri-Valley is a vibrant and growing community, and we are thrilled to provide residents with a dedicated space for timeless music that uplifts, inspires, and connects."
Classical California’s expansion comes at a time of record-breaking audience growth, reflecting a broader cultural renaissance for classical music. Through innovative programming and community-driven initiatives, the organization is reshaping perceptions of the genre and making it more engaging for new and longtime listeners alike. By blending tradition with innovation—through digital streaming, curated playlists, and community events—Classical California is not only preserving this timeless art form but also introducing it to new audiences in fresh and meaningful ways.
