Comedy Dynamics Acquires 150+ Specials From The Uk-Based Nextup Comedy, And Will Distribute The Content Worldwide
LOS ANGELES, CA – Comedy Dynamics has announced they’ve struck a deal to acquire over 150 titles from UK-based NextUp’s comedy library, with plans to distribute the content through their worldwide hybrid distribution network consisting of Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Spectrum, YouTube, Google Play and more.
NextUp is a stand-up comedy centric streaming service with an incredible library of on-demand comedy specials and short sets. You can watch as much as you want, whenever you want, without any adverts! With sets from Danny Bhoy, Richard Herring, Shappi Khorsandi, Zoe Lyons, Jen Brister and more, there's always a new comedian to discover and a show to make you laugh.
NextUp provides free rehearsal space for acts and splits all membership fees with them, while spearheading initiatives to increase representation across the live comedy industry. Social impact projects are supported such as 'The Care Home Tour' that saw comedians perform for dementia care home residents. During COVID-19, NextUp raised over £150k for acts who lost their income.
“As nerdy obsessive fans of Stand Up Comedy, we’re delighted to be partnering with Comedy Dynamics, giving us the ability to showcase new British talent with our neighbors across the pond and worldwide” said Kenny Cavey, Co-Founder and Creative Director of NextUp.
“I love The Magna Carta, James Bond, and Nextup Comedy, what can I say, I’m a very specific Anglophile!” said Brian Volk-Weiss, Founder and CEO of Comedy Dynamics.
The deal was negotiated by Anna Roberts and Michael Epstein on behalf of Comedy Dynamics, and Kenny Cavey on behalf of NextUp.
