LOS ANGELES, CA -- Comedy Dynamics is pleased to announce they've acquired actor and comedian Rhys Darby's new stand-up comedy special, and will distribute it through their hybrid distribution system composed of Comcast, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Spectrum, Peacock, Dish, Google Play, Vimeo, YouTube and more November 2, 2021.

Rhys Darby In Mystic Time Bird brings Kiwi comedian, Rhys Darby front and center, gracing the stage in his latest stand-up show. His unique brand of physical comedy combines obscure observations, sound effects and silly banter, as he takes you on a fantastical journey into the world of mysticism, past lives...and birds.

Rhys Darby is an actor and stand-up comedian from New Zealand. He's best known as the hapless, well-meaning band manager, Murray, from HBO's Flight of the Conchords. Rhys is starring alongside Taika Waititi in the upcoming HBO Max series, Our Flag Means Death, and also stars in Waititi's upcoming film, Next Goal Wins. He's also performed roles in films such as Modern Family, What We Do In The Shadows, Hunt for Wilderpeople, Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle, Jumanji: The Next Level, Guns Akimbo, Bob's Burgers, The Venture Bros, Carmen SanDiego, The Simpsons and more. An ex-soldier in the New Zealand Army and a veteran of almost twenty years as a stand-up comedian, Darby made his feature film debut in Yes-Man. He went on to feature as one of the DJs in The Boat That Rocked (Pirate Radio).

Darby is never far from his standup roots. His standup has been described as a sensational blend of sound effects, characterizations, and askew observations. His career has taken him from his homeland of New Zealand, to the U.K. and beyond. He has performed his unique brand of humor in places as far flung as Iceland to the Falkland Islands, and in festivals from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to Montreal's Just for Laughs.

Rhys has four standup specials, Imagine That! (2008), It's Rhys Darby Night! (2011), This Way to Spaceship, (2012) and I'm A Fighter Jet (2017).

In addition to his vast film and television resume, Darby hosts The Cryptid Factor, a podcast dedicated to the weird and wonderful, particularly Cryptozoology.

"I'm proud to be working with Comedy Dynamics as I release this, my most personal, yet possibly, most ridiculous special, which honours my dearest Mumsy," said Rhys Darby.

"Rhys' energy and charisma are on full display in his wonderful new special. We’re excited to be working with him on this release!" said Brian Volk-Weiss, Founder and CEO of Comedy Dynamics.

The deal was negotiated by Anna Roberts on behalf of The Nacelle Company.
