Contemporary Ideas Dressed In Vintage Clothing: Rosie & The Riveters Announce Their Album Of Empowerment Anthems 'Ms. Behave,' Out 4/6

Canadian Trio To Embark On North American Spring Tour Including A Performance At Merlefest
LISTEN TO LEAD SINGLE "LET 'EM TALK"

Rosie & the Riveters never planned to get political, but opening a newspaper or watching the news made it impossible for them to see the status of women around the world and stay silent. So instead they wrote their new album 'Ms. Behave,' out April 6th, a 12-song collection of empowerment anthems that honor the legacy of the original Rosie the Riveter - contemporary ideas, dressed in vintage clothing.

To accompany the announcement of 'Ms. Behave,' Rosie & The Riveters have released their new single "Let 'Em Talk," an anthem of women's ambition that shuts down those who doubt female potential. Listen here and feel free to share.

Rosie & the Riveters' signature red lipstick, pin curls, and overtly feminine costuming may be deceiving, but this is not a throwback band. The Canadian trio made up of Alexis Normand, Farideh Olsen and Allyson Reigh don't shy away from tough topics, and their songs feel refreshingly timely.

Characterized by playfully defiant lyrics and confident talk-back harmonies, the songs on 'Ms. Behave' carry important and topical political messages that hold deep meaning to the group. "Gotta Get Paid" address the pay-gap issue with refreshing bluntness, while earnest ballad "I Believe You" stands up in support of sexual assault victims, a message that rings true in the midst of the "Me Too" movement.

Rosie & The Riveters pay tribute to their namesake not just with music, but with action - the band invest 20% of merchandise profits in microfinance initiatives, and to date they've contributed to over 150 charities around the world. Their last album, 'Good Clean Fun!' peaked at #5 on the CBC Radio 2 top 20 national chart, and their song "Ain't Gonna Bother" was named one of CBC Radio's Top 100 Songs of 2015.

Rosie & The Riveters will embark on a tour in support of 'Ms. Behave' this spring, including a stop at Merlefest. Full routing below.
