Contradash Releases New Dylan Brady-Produced (100 Gecs) Single “222pm” On Interscope Records

Los Angeles’ rising alternative artist contradash returns with his first release of the year today for Interscope Records, the Dylan Brady-produced (100 gecs) “222pm,” along with an official music video.
“222pm” is bright and up-tempo, with Brady’s production yielding contradash’s most pulsing alt-pop song to date. Accompanying the animated, hyperpop track is the official video directed by Stefan Kohli (Ariana Grande, Olivia Rodrigo, Trippie Redd, Jeremy Zucker, LANY).

The “222pm” video features contradash atop a high-speed roller coaster alongside colorful, glitchy shots that mirror a chaotic amusement park trip. The fast jerky camera movements showcase contradash’s wild yet thrilling sonic experience.
"To me, the song feels like a hectic trip in a dream-state that ends almost as quickly as it starts,” says video director Stefan Kohli. “There’s all these chaotic drops & turns throughout and the roller coaster idea immediately got stuck in my head when he first played the song. I wanted to make a video that was equally high energy, with barely a second to breathe, and Chase’s ability to deliver such captivating performances really makes you feel like you’re on this 2-minute journey with him."
“222’ comes from the version of myself that I see in the mirror,” says contradash. “During a time where I was more confused with life than ever, I had the pleasure of meeting Dylan Brady. Within 30 minutes, he helped me reintroduce myself to music. I felt reinvented, like I’d just made my first song. Stefan Kohli and Noah Talas were the only people who could have been able to wrap a video around this feeling — I'm grateful to share this song and video with all of them."
“222pm” arrives on the heels of contradash’s 10-track Interscope debut ALL-STAR, which garnered contradash fans everywhere from Billboard to AltPress with its guitar-driven revision of 2000s pop-punk. “I remember feeling like a celebrity when I made the all-star team in fifth grade,” says contradash. “Even though the status was imaginary, that was the fuel for this project...” he told PAPER Magazine.
