Punk Provocateur Dagger Polyester Releases Debut LP Perversion For Profit, A Sneering Rebuke Of Commercialized Queerness + Fascist Autocracy

August 1, 2025 - Today, LA-based punk polymath Dagger Polyester has released their debut LP Perversion For Profit, an exhilarating genre-fluid rebuttal against the escalating commercialization of queerness and the ever-growing threat of nationalized fascism. Produced by Rock And Roll Hall Of Famer Chris Robinson(of The Black Crowes) and tracked at the legendary Sunset Sound studios in LA, Perversion For Profit is a relentlessly ambitious debut that sees Polyester’s sardonic sneer awash in the punk theatricality of their heroes Patti Smith, Suicide, Roxy Music, and Talking Heads. While sonically rooted in the sounds of the past, the LP is a timely commentary of the pressing issues of our age, and it’s a pleasure to observe one of rock’s bold new talents spread their wings in real-time.
"Enjoy these nine chapters of revelatory insights into the wondrous world of filth!"

Effortlessly fusing the jagged, angular attack of post punk with new wave synths and the subtle funk of mid-70s Young Americans-era Bowie, Perversion For Profit features riotous blasts of pure punk rock (“We Stand On The Shoulders Of Giants”), warped disco breakdowns (“Conversion Therapy”), Sade-meets-Ziggy Stardust singalongs (“Spin”), and Chic-indebted ruminations on societal ruin (“The Tower”) amongst the record’s exhilarating 9 tracks. Embodying a different character with each song, Polyester theatrically attacks the state of commercialized queerness, the rising threat of fascist autocracy, homophobia, sexism, capitalism, and the often tragic outcomes of the pursuit of fame.

Released in July, “Father Panik” is a propulsive glam rock exploration of personal ads, limerence and the state of modern romance.
