This morning Dams of the West also shared a new music video for “Flag On The Can,” a standout from their debut LP ‘Youngish American.’ Watch here via Brooklyn Vegan, and feel free to share: http://bit.ly/2paAhJX

Chris says of the video:

The video for Flag on the Can was inspired by the something I once saw at McDonald's restaurant #7147 (3200 S Dixie Hwy, Miami, FL 33133). It was December 26th and I was very much looking forward to enjoying a sausage McMuffin combo with orange juice and a hash brown. As I neared the restaurant, though, I saw an employee carefully removing the letters of their particular season's greeting from underneath the Golden Arches (which I believe was something to the effect of "Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from McDonald's!" which was v sweet of them). Watching each grab of the employee's extendo-claw tool slowly erasing the message and replacing it with something about their new All Day Breakfast menu, I thought "Huh." Many to Edward, Nathan and Dave for really making it happen!

Behind the release of ‘Youngish American,’ Dams of the West just wrapped up an extensive run of dates with Black Joe Lewis. Produced by Patrick Carney of The Black Keys, the album earned profiles everywhere from Fader, NPR, WNYC, Billboard + more. Stereogum said "The drummer's solo project isn't supposed to be this good," and Brooklyn Magazine called him "on par with Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile in the ranks of our most affable, self-aware observers."
