Danielia Cotton Reaches Higher on "Bang My Drum"
Danielia Cotton's new album 'Rare Child' (May 20/ Adrenaline) is filled with melodies that aim to lift the spirits, reflecting Daniela's upbringing in a house where gospel music was a constant presence. Songs like "Testify", "Rare Child", and especially "Bang my Drum," make it clear that Cotton's music is rock with heart.
Cotton celebrates the fighting spirit over a two-ton backbeat and instantly memorable guitar hook on "Bang My Drum":
You can't push me down, cause I'll just stand up
You can't fool me twice with all your stuff
I'll just give it back to where it came from
And I'll sing my song and bang my drum

The Sarasota Herald captures the spirit of 'Rare Child' with their recent review:
It's hard to remember the last solo female artist who came along and flat-out rocked like Cotton. You have to think back to Aretha and Janis -- kind of obvious references for any female rocker, but especially apt in Cotton's case. Her songs are uniformly wonderful, her vocals have amazing emotional range, texture and power, and her Telecaster work is fearsome. Together, those elements let you know that let you know Cotton is the real thing.
Danielia Cotton is on tour throughout the summer.
