On the heels of a #1 Billboard Blues debut and being celebrated at the Americana® Honors and Awards in Nashville earlier this week, Delbert McClinton has released the first music video from his new album Tall, Dark, and Handsome. Consisting of all new, all original songs written or co-written by Delbert, the godfather of Americana is making “the best music of his career” according to Rolling Stone.

The video for this smokin’ two minutes of Texas blues captures Delbert’s playful earnestness and effortless cool. Watch “If I Hock My Guitar Here”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xK1FfRBb6Xg

When Tall, Dark, and Handsome debuted last month, it hit the #1 spot of the Billboard Blues chart, making it Delbert’s fourth record to have reached #1 or #2 on the Blues chart. The record’s first single “If I Hock My Guitar” was included in Rolling Stone’s listof Best Country and Americana Songs To Hear Now.

Earlier this week, The Americana Music Association celebrated Delbert’s legacy, honoring him with the Lifetime Achievement Award for Performance at the Americana Honors and Awards.

With over 60 years of recording and touring to his credit, McClinton is a true musical zelig: he toured with the Beatles, backed Bo Diddley and Howlin’ Wolf, helped to inspire The Blues Brothers, and performed everywhere from SNL to Austin City Limits (both multiple times) along the way. His songs have been covered by Buddy Guy, Garth Brooks, Vince Gill, Waylon Jennings, and Wynonna Judd - to name a few.

Delbert continues his high-octane 2019 with an extensive U.S. tour that will continue into December.
