Dillon Carmichael Focuses on Forever in “If I Wasn’t Your Man,” out Today (4.8)

Steamy New Track to be Featured on Forthcoming Deluxe Edition of Sophomore Album, 'Son of A'

Love is all that matters for Riser House Records' Dillon Carmichael, who puts this sentiment on full display in his latest release, "If I Wasn’t Your Man" — out today (4.8). Written by Carmichael alongside Jon D'Agostino and Adam Searan, the steamy tune serves as a tribute to the Kentucky troubadour’s fiancée, Shayla Whitson, as Carmichael's deep holler vocals dive into the life he couldn't imagine living without her.

"I actually wrote this song 7 years ago. Some songs you write and record within a couple of weeks, and some songs take years," Carmichael explains. "We immediately knew it was a great song, but for some reason, the stars didn't line up for us to release it until today. Ultimately, I think that was God's purpose and the way it was supposed to be with this timing. Now that I'm engaged to the love of my life, the song means even more to me. I couldn't be more proud of it and happy for it to be out in the world."

"If I Wasn't Your Man" is the first release from Carmichael since his sophomore album, 'Son of A,' debuted this past fall (10.22 via Riser House Records) and is set to be featured on the forthcoming Deluxe Edition of the project. Serving as his current single, the album's title track continues to climb the country radio charts after debuting on Mediabase as the No.1 most-added single upon impact. Written by Carmichael, Casey Beathard and Phil O'Donnell, the "powerful" (Whiskey Riff) tune also features background vocals by his mother, Becky Montgomery.

Carmichael is busy on the road through the end of the year, continuing his headline 'Son Of A' tour and opening dates for Brooks & DunnJustin MooreTravis Tritt and more. For more information and to purchase tickets to upcoming shows, please visit dilloncarmichael.com.
