‘Soft Power’ is a soulful, slow-burning record, adorned with Doe Paoro’s spiritually-informed lyrics and backed by the raw power of a band that’s played with Adele among others. Stereogum's said the album "recalls the rosy-tinted sound of ‘60s girl groups like the Shirelles [and] the vintage sound of Rihanna’s 'Love On The Brain'...if you like Amy Winehouse, you’re probably going to love this."
‘Soft Power’ is a startlingly wise and reflective song cycle told from the perspective of a woman looking inward, claiming her power and taking control of her fate. “One of my intentions was to drop any questions about what might be inventive, and just focus on writing songs that felt true to my experience,” says Kreitzer. “The idea was to push things forward just by creating something well-made and authentic.”
Doe Paoro will tour in support of ‘Soft Power,’ including a hometown show at LA’s Lodge Room on 11/30 and Brooklyn’s Rough Trade on 11/30. Full tour routing below.
