Nashville songwriter and JUNO Award, Polaris Music Prize nominee Donovan Woods today releases the video for "Next Year," the quietly powerful track off his critically-acclaimed new album 'Both Ways.' An honest reflection of the push-and-pull between putting things off whilst acknowledging the brevity of time, the video's simple and earnest approach features Donovan singing into the camera, making its message unquestionable.

Watch the video, which Rolling Stone Country called "a straightforward, urgent message about the myriad ways we tend to put things off until its too late," HERE.

“A lovely, pensive collection of regrets, joys and humanisms” (Parade), ‘Both Ways’ was inspired by the works of authors and theorists like Alice Munro and Bronwen Wallace. Donovan, who has amassed over 61 million streams on Spotify alone, is lauded for his sharp and universal song-writing, which has been described as “a very simple beauty” (Entertainment Weekly) that packs “an emotional wallop” (Billboard). Having cut his teeth penning songs for Tim McGraw, Billy Currington, Charles Kelley, and more, Donovan is a widely respected songwriter for his distinct voice and nuanced lyricism in Music City.

With his band, The Opposition, Donovan kicks off his US tour on September 23rd at the Pilgrimage Music and Cultural Festival in Franklin, TN then continues to cities throughout the US including stops in Nashville, Chicago and Atlanta - full routing below.
