Downtown Music Publishing Signs North American Agreement With Legendary Italian Publishing Company Edizioni Curci
Edizioni Curci Catalog Includes Italian Pop, Opera, Classical and Film Music, Including "Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu (Volare)," Made
Downtown Music Publishing has signed a multi-year publishing administration agreement for North America with publisher Edizioni Curci, one of Italy's oldest and most respected publishers.
Owned and managed by the Curci family since 1860, the Edizioni Curci song catalog includes over 50,000 works from the worlds of Italian pop, opera, classical, and film music. Notable works include the Grammy Award-winning classic "Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu (Volare)" written by Domenico Modguno and Franco Migliacci and made internationally famous by the likes of Dean Martin and the Gypsy Kings, Mina's "Tintarella di Luna," Toto Cutugno's "L'Italiano" as well as "I've Seen that Face Before" by Grace Jones, "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me," a global hit for Dusty Springfield, and Shirley Bassey's "This Is My Life (La Vita)".
