Downtown Music Publishing's Impressive Americana Footprint: Jason Isbell, Rosanne Cash + more

Downtown Music Publishing have proven themselves a leader in the Americana/Folk world. Downtown’s NYC, LA and Nashville offices are collaborating to bring a longtime niche sound to the forefront of music festival lineups, sync-licensing opportunities, and American musical culture as a whole.

Downtown represents Jason Isbell, a leader in the scene who won two Grammys this year and is up for Album Of The Year, Artist Of The Year, and Song Of The Year. They rep Americana original Rosanne Cash, who won three Grammys for her last album, which was the most played album on Americana radio in 2014. They rep Sturgill Simpson, the poster child of heady Americana music whose latest album debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 and at #1 on the Americana/Folk, Country and Rock charts.

They’ve got prominent artists like Old Crow Medicine Show and Nikki Lane, as well rising newcomers like Natalie Prass, John Moreland, and Erin and The Meanwhiles.

Their music is serving as the backdrop for media of all kinds. Sturgill wrote the theme to HBO's ‘Vinyl', Natalie Prass' music has been used in commercials for Apple, Homeaway and Michael Kors, and Nikki Lane has recently been announced as a new celebrity collaborator with Stance, a lifestyle athletic gear brand.
