Downtown New York, NY (Jan. 20, 2015) Downtown Music Publishing has signed a worldwide publishing agreement with Grammy and Oscar winning film composer, songwriter and producer, Atticus Ross. The signing was announced today by Downtown's Senior Vice President, Creative, Amy Driscoll-Dunning from the company's Los Angeles office.

Atticus Ross began his career in England in the mid-1990s working as a programmer and producer. After moving to the United States in 2000 he met Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, with whom Ross would come to collaborate on numerous projects over the course of many years, including five Nine Inch Nails albums and the film scores for 'The Social Network', 'Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' and 'Gone Girl'.

Ross' work on 2010's 'The Social Network' earned them an Academy Award for Best Original Score, and in 2011 the duo took home a Grammy for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media for 'Girl with the Dragon Tattoo'.

"Atticus Ross has always been at the forefront of creating groundbreaking music," said Amy Driscoll-Dunning. "His song production and film scores are unparalleled, and we are honored to welcome him to the Downtown Music Publishing roster."

Ross represents the latest addition to Downtown Music Publishing's growing roster of songwriters/composers, which already includes such names as Hans Zimmer, Randy Newman, Heitor Pereira and Brian Byrne.

Ross most recently scored the Toronto Film Festival favorite, Bill Pohlad's 'Love & Mercy', a movie that focuses on two periods in the life of Brian Wilson, and he contributed to Michael Mann's 'Blackhat', both in theaters 2015. He is currently finishing the music for the documentary 'Crocodile Gennadiy', executive produced by Terrence Malick and directed by Steve Hoover, who won Sundance's Grand Jury and Audience award with his debut 'Blood Brother' in 2013. He is also scoring John Hillcoat's 'Triple 9', which features an ensemble cast including Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kate Winslet, Casey Affleck and Woody Harrelson. Ross received a 2015 Grammy and Golden Globe nomination for his work on 'Gone Girl' on top of earning a Variety Artisans Award for composers at the 2015 Santa Barbara Film Festival.
