Erick the Architect Drops “Self Made” & “Skinny Ramen Freestyle” Double Single

The swift and dazzling “Self Made” is the latest in a triumphant year for the rapper and producer, who in January released his official solo project EP debut in Future Proof, a deep collection of songs that explore his ideas on how one can best prepare themselves for the inevitable challenges that lie ahead. “Let It Go” from Future Proof is now over 10 million streams on Spotify, and in July he released a series of remixes by Baauer, Khushi, RÜDE CÅT, Powers Pleasant and Future Proof collaborator Linden Jay. The Future Proof EP was praised by Complex, Hypebeast, High Snobiety, the Fader, XXL, NPR Music, Brooklyn Vegan and beyond, and features Loyle Carner, Col3trane, FARR, Sophie Faith, Linden Jay and Pip Millett. 

One third of Flatbush Zombies and the beloved rap group’s primary producer, Erick was also just awarded his first Gold record, for Flatbush Zombies’ “Bounce” from 2016’s 3001: A Laced Odyssey. He also produced and raps on Flatbush Zombies’ contribution to the just-released Metallica Blacklist album, with their take on “Unforgiven.”  

Showcasing his wide-ranging artistry, Erick celebrated the release of Future Proof earlier this year with the 4-hour Future Proof festival on his own Twitch channel Architect’s Corner with performances, meditation and sound baths, financial advice from experts, live visual art, an interview with a former NBA star and more. Erick hosts a freewheeling show on his Twitch channel, from his studio in Los Angeles. He also detailed what he does with his time when he’s not creating music in this episode of The Fader’s Hanging Out With series. 

Erick the Architect is a celebrated artist and a sought-after collaborator, having worked with over 50 different artists including Tech N9ne, Denzel Curry and Portugal. The Man. He is working on forthcoming projects with both longtime and new collaborative partners - Joey Bada$$ and James Blake respectively.
