Pearl Jam, Imagine Dragons, Weezer, Green Day, Ani DiFranco And Other Musicians Contribute To “GivingTuesday” Movement

Via Fandiem And Bandsintown

Nov 29, 2021— More than 20 + artists have joined charitable fundraising platform Fandiem in partnership with live music discovery platform Bandsintown for GivingTuesday (November 30, 2021). Artists including Pearl Jam, Weezer, Green Day, Amy Lee (Evanescence), Ani DiFranco, Jack Johnson, Imagine Dragons, Billy Strings, Willie Nelson, My Morning Jacket, Umphrey’s McGee, Big Gigantic, Rob Thomas (Matchbox 20), Big Head Todd and the Monsters, and more have donated special items or personal experiences— signed guitars, backstage meet & greets, VIP trips to shows, etc.—with fans donating to win once-in-a-lifetime coveted prizes. Funds raised from the participating fans are donated to a partner-supported nonprofit identified for each drop. This special Giving Tuesday initiative launches on November 30, with the goal of inspiring music fans to support their favorite artists in giving back to worthy causes.

Fandiem Co-Founder Alex Machurov said, “We’re excited to partner with our friends at Bandsintown on this Giving Tuesday campaign project. We’re harnessing the giving power of both fans and a range of boldface artists, who’ve come together in an unprecedented way to make donations that, in turn, generate needed funds. The Fandiem platform was launched to support artists at a difficult time, so it’s especially meaningful to join with artists and their nonprofits of choice to help others.”

Fandiem’s successful fan-driven fundraising campaigns provide the model for a new way to support charities. Built to harness the power of the fan community to do good in the world, the Fandiem Foundation was born during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic to aid music industry friends. It has since supported 27 nonprofit organizations through the participation of 50,000 super fans and 76 winners of one-of-a-kind items and experiences—including a behind-the-scenes pass to the 2021 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, a flyaway to Super Bowl LV, Bonnaroo Front Pit Access experience, and a rare Metallica autographed ‘Black Album’ remastered box set. Funds have been raised for a range of charities supporting children, fighting homelessness, providing healthcare for musicians, shoring up struggling venues, and more.

In July of 2021, Bandsintown launched Bandsintown for Good as a way to get their 65+ million users involved in their mission to make the world a better place through the power of live music. Since then, the platform has partnered with Global Citizen to take action for equality and the environment around the world, and with Imagine Dragons’ Tyler Robinson Foundation to support pediatric cancer families. Now they are teaming up with great artists and Fandiem to create an impact for Giving Tuesday and the holidays beyond. “We are delighted to partner with Fandiem and such great artists for this Giving Tuesday,'' says Fabrice Sergent, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Bandsintown. “Live music brings us together, and Bandsintown’s fans are always willing to support causes to make the world better.”

The Giving Tuesday initiative will be held on the Fandiem platform (www.fandiem.com/givingtuesday) with information on all artist-donated prizes and partner charitable organizations. Though all fundraising efforts will launch on Giving Tuesday, some experiential prizes will extend through January. Prizes are available either as sweepstakes or as auctions. Those who donate $50 or more will also receive an exclusive Giving Tuesday tote bag on behalf of Bandsintown, Fandiem, and cause-based apparel brand Ivory Ella.

The artists have generously donated a range of one-of-a-kind items and unique experiences, including an all-expense-paid VIP trip to see Imagine Dragons at any U.S. tour stop of the winner’s choice; a Fender Stratocaster guitar signed by all five members of Pearl Jam; and a private virtual cooking session and dinner with Rob Thomas and his wife, Marisol.

Additionally, many of the participating artists have chosen specific charitable organizations for this project. For drops with multiple prizes, Fandiem and Bandsintown have identified nonprofits in need. Among the organizations in place are Reverb, Sweet Relief, The Upside Fund, Conscious Alliance, Sidewalk Angels, Tyler Robinson Foundation, Vitalogy Foundation, The Roots of Music, The Epilepsy Foundation, The Trevor Project, A Big Gigantic Difference Foundation, and Jamsz Konnections.
